Ohio Business Matchmaking – Connecting Ohio Suppliers and Buyers

Situation:

The 2013 matchmaking event sponsored by the Ohio Small Business Development Centers and the Ohio Development Services Agency is now making matches between Ohio based businesses that signed up for the event. The buyers and sellers both had to use the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) to identify their products or services to each other. NAICS is the standard used by Federal statistical agencies in classifying business establishments for the purpose of collecting, analyzing, and publishing statistical data related to the U.S. business economy.

Analysis:

1. Buyers identified products or services they were seeking at this event using the NAICS codes.
2. Sellers also identified by NAICS codes the products or services they have to offer buyers at the Matchmaking event.
3. The event planners have now matched the buyers and sellers NAICS codes in order to produce a schedule of appointment for both the buyers and sellers.
4. 10 minute appointment will now be published for the meetings needed for matched buyers and sellers to interview each other during the Matchmaking
event to facilitate future business opportunities.
5. This is the only place in Dayton where 150 government, large business, and small business professionals will meet for the purpose of doing business with each other.
